Using only the highest-quality pure pigment, our A J Ludlow Colours’ Benzimidazolone Yellow powder is suitable for all home-made paint formulations, including water, oil and acrylic colours, as well as solvent-based acrylic or polycarbonate resins.
Grind the pigment with A J Ludlow’s Binder and Painting medium to make home-made watercolours or alternative binding mediums, including drying oils for oil colours and oil-based paints and for three-dimensional work, solvent-based acrylic or polycarbonate resins. For home-made acrylic colours, the pigment should be ground into a wetting and dispersing additive first, in order to stabilise the pigment in the acrylic emulsion.
Based on mono-azo chemistry, this type of azo pigment contains the benzimidazolone structure. This Yellow pigment has a light lemon (green shade) hue, identical in shade to the popular artists' colour "Hansa Yellow" ( C.I. Pigment Yellow 3), except that Benzimidazolone Yellow ( C.I. Pigment Yellow 175) is a permanent alternative with high light fastness.
