Using only the highest-quality pure pigment, our A J Ludlow Colours’ Cadmium Yellow powder is suitable for all home-made paint formulations, including water, oil and acrylic colours, as well as solvent-based acrylic or polycarbonate resins.
Grind the pigment with A J Ludlow’s Binder and Painting medium to make home-made watercolours or alternative binding mediums, including drying oils for oil colours and oil-based paints and for three-dimensional work, solvent-based acrylic or polycarbonate resins. For home-made acrylic colours, the pigment should be ground into a wetting and dispersing additive first, in order to stabilise the pigment in the acrylic emulsion.
Cadmium Yellow pigment powder is a mixed crystal inorganic pigment, formed as a solid solution of zinc sulphide in cadmium sulphide. It can be used as a brilliant mid-shade yellow, which can be mixed with blues to give a selection of bright greens or with reds to create warm oranges. The pigment has excellent heat stability, a high degree of light fastness and chemical resistance.
