Bockingford watercolour papers are robust and forgiving and are ideal for those at the beginning of their watercolour journey. This watercolour Pad comprises of 12 sheets of Bockingford watercolour paper from St Cuthberts Mill. The paper has a weight of 300g/m 2 (140lb), which will allow the paper to perform well without requiring stretching, even after multiple washes. It is cold pressed (CP), which is also commonly known as NOT (meaning that it is not hot pressed) and so has a slightly textured surface, making it suitable for most types of work. The sheets are 11.8 inches by 8.2 inches (29.7cm x 21cm) and are glued on the top side to form a pad.
The exquisite pure goat hair brush is made from highly absorbent and soft goat hair, enabling the brush to hold a lot of ink/paint and so create continuous, flowing brush strokes. It is not only suitable for both Chinese brush and Japanese Sumi-e, but also ideal for watercolour painting. The handle of this brush is made of red coloured bamboo and is a perfect shaped to fit comfortably in the hand for executing fluid brush strokes necessary for Chinese painting and calligraphy. Like most Chinese brushes, this brush has a loop on the end so that it can be hung from a brush stand to help facilitate natural drying.
The Little Red Hair Chinese brush is also suitable for both Chinese brush and Japanese Sumi-e and watercolour painting. It is made from short red hairs, which gives the brush a firm springy tip, making it great for outline painting and fine detailing.
